Tuddenham v HADLEIGH CRICKET CLUB, SUFFOLK Sunday Development XI on Sun 17 Jul 2016 at 1:30pm
HADLEIGH CRICKET CLUB, SUFFOLK Lost By 133 Runs

Match report A difficult week for team selection, with regulars Pete, Vinny, Jamie and both Locke's unavailable. A team was assembled, mainly with the help of the youngsters that had played for the 2nd's the day before!
Off to league leaders Tuddenham, on what was to be the hottest day of the year so far.
Captain Buster (who had only got back from Dubai at 11 o'clock the night before) strolled out to the wicket for the toss, which he won. But the plonker put Tuddenham into bat 1st!
Arran and Corey opened the bowling, and what felt like poor bowling was actually good bowling by the 2 youngsters. It wasn't until the 8th over that Corey got the first wicket, Buster running like a gazelle to take a fine catch. 2 overs later Corey took a 2nd wicket, this time with a turn of speed and a catch from Tabs. Corey then took his 3rd wicket in the 12th over. Spirits were lifted temporarily.
Unfortunately batsmen 2 & 5 were in fine form, and anything other than a perfect ball was punished. Changes of bowler to more 'senior' members were only to prove to be more expensive. Buster particularly disappointed with the fielding after his first over and was heard to mention something about 'ucking fidiots'! Both batsmen went on to make 100, batsmen 5 choosing to retire at 100, unfortunately batsmen 2 was not so charitable. Zak was finally to take his wicket when on 109. His father and Miss Marple should be proud.
Tuddenham went on to finish on 310 for 5.
After a very nice tea, including freshly made doughnuts, we decided that 200 was going to be a realistic target for us.
Tabs and Wilo were the Hadleigh openers, steady progress was made until Gary was caught at point. Tabs went on to make a respectable 45, but falling victim to a direct hit, when trying to steal a quick run. Youngsters James, Daniel and Arran all made it into the teens, and Corey hitting a fine 24 not out.
Only Roger was to provide a very brief period of excitement, managing a quick 16 (with 2 x sixes) before being bowled. Rear gunner Buster came in and made a quick 13, but was finally caught. Hadleigh finishing on 177 in the 39th over. A few runs short of our target, but an enjoyable (if a bit hot) game.
Buster blamed the loss on jet lag!
