Walsham le Willows II v HADLEIGH CRICKET CLUB, SUFFOLK Sunday Development XI on Sun 12 Jul 2015 at 1.30 pm
HADLEIGH CRICKET CLUB, SUFFOLK Won By 8 Wickets

Match report Yet another difficult week for team selection, made easier at the last minute, by Sudbury conceding the 1st team match, due to lack of players (that sounds familiar, doesn't it!).
A slightly rearranged eleven (now including Ben, Daniel and Jamie), set off to Walsham-Le-Willows, on what was forecast to be a damp day. Ben assumed captaincy for the 2nd time, with Pete and Pete's secretary (Roger) choosing to rest their old legs. A welcome extra with Vinny's dad - Clive, who offered to umpire the whole match. Much appreciated.
Ben lost the toss (useless!), and WLW opted to bat first.
Arran and Barney opened the bowling with instant results, taking 3 wickets in the first 5 overs, for only 14 runs, it looked like an early finish! Unfortunately batsmen 4 & 5 were a different story, and took the score to 113-3 at drinks. After drinks, both were removed thankfully, Bloss taking a fine catch on the boundary to remove the batsman for 62.
A heavy shower stopped play in the 24th over, with the score on 125-5. The large oak tree not providing enough shelter, so a dash into the pavilion was made to watch the Wimbledon Men's Final. Tea was taken.
Play resumed on a dry wicket, but damp bowlers run-ups. Ben brought himself into the bowling line-up, at reduced speed, due to the track conditions. Ben took 4 wickets of the WLW tail-end for 9 runs! MG finished the batters off, in the 34th over - a good recovery! 6 catches were taken and only 2 dropped (both difficult).
Hadleigh openers, Jamie and Dan went into bat, Jamie scoring 6 with the first ball (2 runs + 4 overthrows). Dan unfortunately was caught early in his innings, bringing in Faff du 'Blossy'. Good progress was made, until Jamie was tempted to taking a couple of strides down the wicket to a lofted ball, and was stumped on 30.
This brought Martin 'dot ball' Grayling into the fray. Hadleigh needn't have worried, with the difficult bowler's stint finished, Bloss got his eye in and the runs came thick and fast. Hadleigh winning the game in the 28th over with Bloss on 87 and Martin a solid 9.
Four wins in a row, and 2nd in the league (Eek!)
