Milden v HADLEIGH CRICKET CLUB, SUFFOLK Sunday Development XI on Sun 21 Jun 2015 at 1.30 pm
HADLEIGH CRICKET CLUB, SUFFOLK Won By 6 Wickets

Match report A trip to picturesque Milden for the 'father's day family' academy team this week. The team consisting of 4 x Tampions, 2 x Daniels', 2 x Lockes and 2 x Peters'. Dan Thornton was the soul black sheep of the academy family team.
Pete lost the toss! This has never happened before!, but Milden elected to bat first, which was what Pete would have chosen to do anyway.
Hadleigh opening bowlers Ben and Arran made a fine start, and Milden runs were slow. Ben bowling 7 overs (6 of these being maidens) for 5 runs. At drinks, Milden were 45-0, very good bowling indeed.
The Milden batsmen did wake up a bit, and as the run rate increased, wickets also started to fall. Bloss taking one, Ollie taking two off consecutive balls (on a hat-trick, next time he bowls) and Ben bowling a guy, who had just hit him for 3 consecutive boundaries and ruined his bowling figures. Faff du 'Blossy' also ran the opening batsman out with a fine direct hit to the stumps. Milden finished on 161-5. A special mention to Owen for keeping wicket for the 2nd consecutive week, who performed brilliantly.
After a bar-b-que tea (very nice - glad we fielded first!), Hadleigh's opening batsmen father/son pairing, Tony and Taylor went out to bat. The 4 per over required, easily being achieved. The only delay was Tony having to replace his twenty year old bat for 'du Blossy's' more modern item. Under closer inspection we think that the 3 x screws holding Tony's bat together had something to do with the funny sounds it was making!
Tayler was caught on 22 and Tony was also caught on 36. Ollie Peters made a fine 28, including one of the sweetest sixes most of us had seen (lost ball). Faff du Blossy also made a quick 30 before being caught himself. It was left to Arran and Ben to finish the game off, and with some very sensible batting (and helped by a couple of dropped catches) were able to do this, in the 35th over.
Thanks to our collective supporters (read hecklers) for their constructive comments from the boundary!
